Tag - Whimsy Duck

I am back making single layer tags using the Go Kreate Concentric tag die.  It is a great way to use stamps and a box of tags makes for a super gift.

This Whimsy Duck image was stamped with Archival Black ink and coloured in with aqua pencil crayons lightly blended with a blender pen.  The sentiment is Clear Dollar Birthday Wishes.

MFT - Woven Basket die for Easter

I did this basket for a young girl in my art class.  The cardstock is Abbey Road from My Mind's Eye, the die is MFT Woven Basket and the cute bunny is from Peachy Keen Bunny Dolls.  The easter egg is a Spellbinders Nested Eggs die.  The bunny was coloured in with a paint brush and Distress Stains diluted with water.

TCW - Mini Birds of a Feather

This is a stencil from The Crafter's Worksop used with a sponge and Dusty Concord Distress ink.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts - Hugs.

The stripes across the photo must be from the window blinds.  It was pouring with rain when I took this photo and there was very little natural light around - apologies for the poor image.

Cottage Cutz - Old Fashioned Phone

Another card with the sentiment still to be decided.  I like to have quite a few cards which I can choose from and, depending on the occasion, stamp on the right sentiment.

Starting with the background paper - Creative Memories Vineyard, the larger die is Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven, the smaller die is Spellbinders Labels Three with a Hero Arts Newspaper Background stamped on it.  The Cottage Cutz Old Fashioned Phone was cut from different scraps of cardstock and sponged with Distress inks.

Penny Black - Queen of Hearts

This card is still to have a sentiment stamped on.  When I know what I am going to use it for I will find a suitable sentiment.

I love the attitude of this image and coloured it in with Stampin Up crayons and a blender pen as I wanted a softer look for her.  The die used is Go Kreate Plain Ovals with the background paper being from Creative Memories Simply Beautiful.

DH says this reminds him of me !  I do beg to differ on that.

Penny Black - Tom and Tilly

I find this quite a powerful image and it was a delight to colour in with Distress Stains and inks.  For the hair I used Adirondak dabbers.  The image was die cut with a Go Kreat Plain Circles die and popped onto a Craftworks card called back2basics.

Penny Black - Ragged Romeo

This such a sweet stamp to colour in.  Lots of detail required and one which I thought might best be done in Distress Stains, inks and various markers.

The colours used are as follows :
Boy's suit Chipped Sapphire, hair is Walnut Stain plus Adirondak Espresso paint dabber, boots Black Soot, roses areVictorian Velvet
Girl's dress Victorian Velvet and Antique Linen, boots Walnut Stain, hair is Tombow Saddle Brown
Grass - Distress Stains Peeled Paint and Bundled Sage mixed with water and painted on with a wet paint brush.

The die used on the watercolour paper and Fab Scraps pink background paper is Go Kreate Frame Wavy #1.

MFT - Woven Basket

Having been so busy lately I totally forgot Easter was this month.  This MFT Woven Basket is good for a single marshmallow egg or some of those tiny Easter eggs.

The cute bunny is from The Greeting Farm and is called Maggie.  I coloured the image with Marvy le Plume and Tombow markers and a blender pen.  The grass is a La-La Land Grass Border die and the egg is from Spellbinders Nested Eggs.  The bow is from the same MFT die.

Penny Black - Flight L.O.V.E.

This is a new image which I recently bought and I think the little hedgehog is rather cute.  I coloured him in using Distress Stain, Pumice Stone, water and a paint brush.  The pink parts are from a Stampin Up aqua crayon called Blush Blossom used with a blender pen.

The balloons were coloured in using Distress Stain, Worn Lipstick, water and a paintbrush.  The image was framed with the Spellbinders die called Deckled Rectangles.  The sentiment is Kaszazz Lucy's Stamps 1157LE Happy Birthday stamped in Archival Maroon ink.

Stampin Up - Pocket Fun

Small cards are quick, easy and fun to make.  I have had this Stampin Up image from the set Pocket Fun coloured in for years and it seems perfect for this size card.  The sentiment is from Gina K Designs Friends.

Thank you card

This offcut of paper is quite thin and transparent which gave me the idea of layering another piece of plain cream cardstock behind it and to stamp the sentiment onto the background then to layer the decorative paper over it.  Quick and easy.

The circle is a Spellbinders one and the background paper is from my stash, trimmed with a Creative Memories corners rounder.

Crafter's Workshop Mini Butterfly Template

When I made the last card with this template I did not do the first attempt properly but managed to save a small section to use on a card.  The template was inked with Distress Dusty Concord and I cut the strip with my Creative Memories trimmer fitted with a decorative blade.  After matting it on a piece of white cardstock I scored a couple of lines either side of the strip.

The sentiment is from WhimsyThank You Tabs 1 inked in StazOn  Vibrant Violet.

I am on a thank you card mission at the moment and wanted plain and simple ones.  I have some offcuts of decorative paper from a local print store and teamed it up with a Hero Arts Good Friends sentiment punched using the Stampin Up wide oval.

Crafter's Workshop - Mini Butterfly Ballet

A Crop Stop video showing how to use stencils with Distress Ink gave me an idea for a simple thank you card.  I tend to not use too many stencils but this video demonstrated using a sponge instead of a stencil brush which I normally use.

The Crafter's Workshop Mini Butterfly Ballet is a 6 x 6 template and I used Dusty Concord Distress ink on a lilac coloured paper.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up Sincere Salutations stamped with StazOn Vibrant Violet and punched out with a Stampin Up wide oval punch.

Tag - Art Impressions - Tree and Leaves

Yet another Go Kreate Concentric tag this time with the Art Impressions Tree and Leaves stamp in Archival Olive ink.  The sentiment is from an un-named Inkadinkado stamp set.  The flowers on the tree were hand done with a Stampin Up Dusty Durango marker.  The tag was finished off with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.

Clear Dollar - Pet Angels

I have had this topper lying around for ages so am unable to remember what dies were used behind the image or how I coloured it in but think it may have been with Copics.  Being passionate about animals and understanding how distressing it is when they leave us, I find this Clear Dollar Pet Angels is a set I use over and over again.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The border punch used on the background paper is an old Martha Stewart one.

Art Impressions - Cash Keeper

The older I get the more I appreciate the images and sentiments from Art Impressions.  They have some wonderful Golden Oldies characters !

I stamped this image with Momento black ink on Copic friendly paper which I purchased from 7 Kids College Fund.  The Copics used were :

Blue   B23, B21
Yellows   Y35, Y23, Y21
Reds  R39, R37, R35
Skin  E21, E00, E000
Hair  C0

The earrings were coloured in with Smooch Pool and on the cheeks I used Pebbles Ikan'dee chalks.  The sentiment is from the same set and it was die cut with MFT Sweet Stack Labels.  The whole image was die cut with Spellbinders Deckle Edge Rectangles and, most important, put on rises to attach to the next layer of paper.  Not sure if it is the South African money that is larger but I struggled to get the image to lay flat after tucking the money into the slit I cut around the hand then had a brainwave to put it on rises which solved the problem.

Tag - Hero Arts With Sympathy

I do not believe I have made a sympathy tag before.  I thought it could be attached to flowers, a gift of food or even a box of thank you cards.

The orange strip in the middle was made using a Dreamweaver Fibreglass screen, a stencil brush and Distress inks Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge.  The image is from the Hero Arts set With Sympathy as is the sentiment.  Both were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Sizzix / Tim Holtz Pillow Box w/labels

I have another pillow box die which has never really worked and when I saw this Tim Holtz / Sizzix Pillow Box w/labels was a little larger I thought it might be time to get a replacement.  It works beautifully and I think it is one I will get a lot of use out of.

The paper is My Mind's Eye - All is Bright and the stamp is Whiff of Joy - Henry Heart which was coloured in with markers and a blender pen.  The small heart has Stickles Xmas Red on it.  The grass is a MFT die - Fresh Cut Grass, the large heart is Nellie's Choice Frame die Multi Heart and the small heart is a Stampin Up punch Full Heart.  The sentiment is from the Hero Art set Say it All.

Peachy Keen - PKSC 04 April 2012

I wanted to try out a new technique I had seen - dust chalk over a dark piece of card stock and stamp an image over it using Perfect Medium.  Well, that did not turn out so good for me so I decided to use the black card stock for another project !

The blue scalloped design either side of the black card is left overs I found, the green patterned paper is from a DCWV Stack 7 pad and it was die cut using my latest favourite die, the Quikutz Pocket.  The darling cupcake is from the Peachy Keen set PKSC 04 April 2012, as is the face.  I stamped out the bottom of the cupcake onto patterned paper and decorated the top with Pebbles Inc Ikan'dee Pearlescent chalks.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set called Hugs.

QuicKutz - Pocket

I was recently excited to get my first QuicKutz die - Pocket.  The die is cut from a beige piece of cardstock and coloured with Distress inks Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs.

The tag is stamped wuth background image Hero Arts Old Writing Flower Collage in Archival Sepia.  The sentiment on the tag is Tim Holtz Nature's Discovery in Archival Coffee ink - distressed inked with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs.

The background is Creative Expressions Brick embossing folder highlighted with Momento Nautical Blue ink topped with Peachy Keen Happy Bird die.  Not sure where I got the sentiment from but the labels are part of the Pocket die.
